Zlotoryja is a charming town in the Lower Silesian Voivodship. Due to the presence of gold in the local streams, it is also known as the Polish Klondike. The town's mining traditions continue to this day - the International Polish Gold Panning Championships attract thousands of gold bullion enthusiasts every year.

Zlotoryja is a frequent destination for tourists from all over Poland and Europe. However, a place already attractive for its architecture and history has struggled with a lack of natural accents in the centre. The town's great asset is precisely the historic old town with its town hall, whose qualities have earned it a place on the register of the National Heritage Institute's list of the most valuable monuments.

It was here, in the Old Town, that the Cascade Floral Structures, models H750, H1200 and H2400, found their way into the urban landscape. A similar effect of elegant flowering was created by lantern-mounted Cascade Hanging Structures type W600, which completed the beautiful natural decoration. An interesting solution was used on the city's railings - the Atech flower boxes most appropriate for such a location were hung on them.

In 2013, strategic locations in Zlotoryja were flowered. In particular, the local market square and the adjacent arteries were beautified. The surroundings of the monuments to Independence, the Pope and Płukacz gained floral decoration.

Zlotorya's historic market square recently underwent a revitalisation. After replacing the surface and small architecture, it was time to introduce green accents. The cobbled surface of the centre of Złotoryja was in perfect harmony with the stylish townhouses, but was clearly associated with a reduction in the amount of natural greenery. The stylish but monotonous greyness of the old town needed to be enlivened by vegetation, the introduction of which was problematic not only because of the lack of soil, but also the difficult access to water. As Zlotoryja boasts numerous monuments, it was necessary to arrange and display them appropriately using flowers. The lack of natural substrate and hindered this task, leaving the monuments without an appropriate setting.

Solution

In order to improve the aesthetics of Zlotorya's Old Town, Cascade Flower Constructions of various sizes were chosen. They were placed in strategic locations in the centre. The colourful flowers of surfinia, petunias, geraniums and ipomoeia created an intriguing contrast on the grey cobbled surface.For an additional effect, the floral decorations also found their way onto the city's lamp posts, as well as onto the railings, creating a harmonious composition on all levels.
